Weapon of Class Instruction, whose author wrote a song claiming that NYU President John Sexton’s hugs were a “gesture of patriarchy” (here’s a column I wrote about it), did not like the post I made last night.
And the Washington Square News loses any claim to objectivity when its opinion editors blog like this on its official website. What a joke. I hope that the WSN and their “good friend” John Beckman will be very happy together. The rest of us are going to keep fighting for a just university.
God forbid! An opinion editor with an opinion.
The WSN Opinion pages aren’t objective. That would be impossible, since, as most people understand, op/eds are, well, opinionated. Of course, we try to print every side of an issue, as long as we have contributions that present it in a competent manner.
And that “WSN’s good friend” bit? Sarcasm, bub. Sarcasm.
But y’all keep fighting the good fight. On Blogspot.

You’re the opinion editor. You edit opinions. And you’ve made yours perfectly clear. I understand sarcasm well enough. I also understand what an actual, critical engagement with the NYU administration might look like coming from your paper, and I haven’t seen it in a long time.
