All that ’stuff’ you have leftover in your dorm is now put to good use

By Alvin Chang

When I lived in an NYU dorm, I remember people throwing out microwaves, sheets and even computer monitors — right down the garbage chute (I’m pretty sure the latter is incredibly bad for the environment.)

But, now, there is an NYU initiative to collect all this stuff and donate it to local shelters.

Great idea.

It started last May at three NYU dorms, but now it’s at 10 of the 25.
