of a pumpkinFate would have it that the two teams I’ve been rooting for in this NCAA tournament would meet to try to eliminate the other.

Oh, cruel basketball overlord, why must it be this way?

Kansas and Davidson played each other for the right to play in the Final Four, and the game ended just five minutes ago. And, predictably, it was a greatly frustrating two hours.

When Davidson was winning, I found myself rooting for Kansas — my poor Jayhawks, who had worked so hard to get to this point in the season.

However, when Kansas was winning, I screamed and yelled at the two hoping for a Davidson comeback.

And when all was said and done, Davidson came down the court down by two and the game on the line. The Wildcats got off a poor three-point shot as the buzzer went off, and Kansas celebrated endlessly, as if people like me didn’t exist.

As I turned off my TV in disgust, I received a text message: DAV(10):57, KANSAS(1):59

Earlier this season, I had text message alerts set up for the Jayhawks. But now, it was as if the basketball overlords were teasing me with this outcome. Oh, how cruel.

Now that this tournament is nearly over, I shall return to covering things most of you actually care about.
